Lois Vincent

SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER

Lois joined OB in 2019 and works across a variety of homeware product categories. Her job involves creating the themes and overall vision for the new season with the rest of the team and then bringing those ideas to life through designs for the collections. She also regularly visits our suppliers across the world so that we can work together closely to develop new ranges.

As well as collaboration with her team and suppliers, Lois’s role involves a fair amount of creative troubleshooting. The design process can produce many obstacles and challenges, whether that’s related to materials, product usage, production logistics or budget considerations, so it helps to be analytical and resourceful. When an idea for a design finally comes together it can be very exciting.

Working for a company that encourages its designers to push the boundaries can give a lot of artistic freedom when it comes to exploring new ideas. Inspiration for new designs can be found everywhere and nowhere, and for Lois it’s often quite subconscious. She especially enjoys creativity through collaboration, bouncing ideas off the rest of the team and seeing how it evolves.

I 100 per cent believe that design can impact our emotions. At OB we want to boost people's mood via the products we sell – whether that’s through the colour combinations chosen, the feel of the materials used or the design itself. We have a lot of fun creating products and we hope this is passed on to our customers to enjoy in their own homes.
