Spring home updates

Warm, natural shades meet woven design details in our latest homeware and furniture collections. And, as we lean into the refreshing colours and patterns of spring, we’re thinking about a pared-back room refresh to welcome the new season. The Home & Gift Team talk us through the colour palette, material selection and technique experimentation that led to our latest feel-good homeware styles.

Introducing Vero

Inspired by vintage rattan designs, our Vero range embraces the lightweight and versatile quality of natural material, using decorative loops and gentle curves to achieve the delicate finish.

The design process began in our creative studios, where the team created initial sketches and colour combination ideas. These drawing were translated into digital CADs, and the samples were handcrafted in Indonesia by our skilled suppliers. ‘We wanted to create a fresh take on the current rattan trend. The injection of pink, light green and butter yellow adds a playful element to the range and ties the collection to the rest of our homeware designs,’ explains Senior Home & Gift Buyer, Freja Ewers.

Our rattan pieces pair well with the natural tones of our woven and raffia lamps and lampshades. The curved detailing and soft colour palette bring a calming, pretty feel, and the lightweight structure and compact shape make each piece easy to move around your home office, bedroom or living room.

Woven through

Stripes are having their moment again this season, and we’ve continued our pared-back, minimalistic theme by combining this classic pattern with a soothing colour palette. Our latest bedside table designs have hand-painted stripes in coastal blue, pale pink and pistachio, offering a subtle colour pop to brighten dark corners or awkward spaces. Combined with the woven stripes of our yellow linen bedding, the rattan living collection offers a fresh, new-season room reset.

Re-imagining patterns on new materials has been a fun design challenge this season. ‘It has been exciting to take the classic technique of weaving, traditionally used in fabrics, and recreate this on ceramics,’ says Head of Home & Gift Design, Kate Butler. Our sculptural lattice frames and vases are a great outcome of this experimentation, glazed in a bright yellow for a fun, uplifted feel.

Mellow yellow

Soft, warm, and leaning into the promise of spring, the pastel tones used across our latest homeware and furniture designs reflect this seasonal change. Butter yellow is the colour of the moment, and our Home & Gift Team have been embracing it. From knitted throws splashed with golden tones to zesty brights for added impact, we’re bringing a dreamy, sunshine-infused glow to your home.

As well as honeysuckle-toned homeware and citrus ceramics that lift and brighten, the Home & Gift Team have experimented with soft sage greens, powder blue and pastel pinks to add a seasonal freshness. ‘The start of summer will bring a new injection of colour across our designs,’ says Head of Home & Gift Design, Kate Butler. ‘Shimmering tones and sunset hues mix with pinks and tomato red to manifest that warm, summery mood.’

Dream a little dream

Our best-selling patchwork quilt is an OB icon, and it’s back with two new designs. Made from luxurious cotton, our pastel bedspread combines spring-like shades of yellow, green, pink and blue in a traditional diamond patchwork pattern, perfect for a fresh new-season update. The reverse features a classic green and white stripe for double style points.

Building on this pattern, the Home & Gift Team have created a bold second design, combining multiple prints with geometric details and patchwork panels. Made from soft printed cotton, shades of green, pink and orange are arranged in a geometric pattern with subtle top stitching. With a criss-cross trellis print and fruit and floral pattern painted by hand in the OB creative studios, we've combined solid-coloured panels with pops of print and a geometric double border for an impactful, mood-boosting addition to your sofa or bed.
