Plant Pot FAQs

Generally, your plant pot should be roughly 1-2cm wider in diameter than the plastic grow pot your plant is planted in. Our plant pots have the internal diameter on the product page, as well as the external measurements. Measure the diameter (width) of your grow pot or artificial plant pot to make sure it will fit comfortably inside.

For more inspiration, read our guide to picking the perfect plant pot.

It is not necessary for indoor plant pots to have drainage holes. Designed for indoor use, our standing pots and plant pots with stands do not have drainage holes. Instead, we recommend that you keep the plant in a plastic pot inside the decorative pot. Make sure there’s room around the edges - this will make it easier to lift the plant out before or after it’s been watered to drain the excess liquid.

Because they’re not subjected to outdoor conditions, indoor plant pots can be made of many different materials, including ceramic, terracotta, metal, rattan, fibreglass, concrete and plastic. This means that you can easily find a plant pot to match your existing interior style, without having to consider harsh changes in weather. Plastic-lined storage baskets are great for larger plants and small indoor trees.

Really pretty plant pots. I would say they are more for show than practical. The gold foil does fall off as it looks like it’s not sealed on top so it is very very fragile. I bought three and they look lovely next to each other though.

I have several of these pots and they are beautiful. They are made by hand I think so sometimes the opening varies slightly in size, some of my plant pots fit and some don’t but I tend to find if I cut the lip of the plastic plant pot down it will fit into the ceramic pot.

But disappointed to be honest considering the price. It is a pretty standard plant pot, not even evenly glazed so looks like ‘seconds’ with some gold leaf stuck around the bottom that (as us the nature if gold leaf if it’s not sealed) is flaky and would rub off if you rubbed it as I got it all over my hands as I positioned the pot. However, it looks great just expected better quality for the price.

I ordered two and one of them was shattered upon arrival! I do like the look of the remaining one, but would add that the gold decoration is like a kind of plastic overlay that can easily be scraped off with a fingernail. Also, if anyone is wondering, they don't have drainage holes in the base.

Superb quality plant pot, great design. The gold pattern on the bottom is quite different to the photo on the website (presumably as every one is painted individually) but is still very nice and it does state on website that the pattern can vary. I'm really happy with the pot, and the price!

Looks lovely but unfortunately does not stand up to care instructions. When I handwashed it as advised some of the gold turned green or peeled off. The store was helpful in giving a replacement so I will endeavour not to get my new one wet at all - difficult with a plant pot! I would advise buying the mom gold leaf pots

I've had my eye on this pot for ages, and I finally decided to order it for myself just after Christmas. It arrived on time and in one piece - something I was worried about! It has a beautiful shiny glaze, and the foil at the bottom seems to have been applied on top of it (rather than under the glaze). This does mean I don't want to move it around much because the foil seems prone to flaking, but it also looks so much nicer because the gold is beautifully shiny. I have a purple inch plant in mine and it looks fab.

Its a gorgeous planter and a fair price. Works with a decor. I knocked off one star because the first one to arrive was not nearly as good. That one had very little gold leaf (so little that you could barely see it when the pot was on the ground) and a big thumb imprint in the glaze. When I undid them, they were exactly what I wanted to give her, and even more beautiful than I thought they would be. Smaller than I imagined. Certainly not the 'Extra large' that was advertised. Also beware, the gold foil on the picture goes half way up the pot. In reality it's only on the bottom, barely covering a quarter of the the pot. It can't be seen from the ground so it just looks like a boring grey pot. honestly don't bother. There are much nicer pots available from my local garden store.

Looks nice but terrible quality. It was a gift wrapped present but as soon as the recipient took it out it the box, the gold foil was dropping off everywhere. The finish was very cheap, tacky and disappointing.

Unfortunately the gold foil on one side of the pot was really rough/bobbly and flaking off all over. I’d expect this in small areas but not over half the vase. Every time I carry it more falls off in my hands . It had a white paper net packaging around it which I think contributed to it arriving in this condition... So overall disappointed!

A lovely plant pot. Really nice style and shape. Bigger than I expected! The gold foil paint at the bottom is a nice touch. Noticed others have mentioned the paint flaking, mine has a tiny amount, but left alone it’s fine. Missing 1 star due to the shape at the top of the pot. It’s very wide at the bottom but curves in a tad at the top, so make sure you measure your plant’s nursery pot first to get the right fit! :)

It looks lovely in a bedroom, I have chosen to put a Mother-in law tongue in the pot and it looks lovely. It was well-packaged and there was no damage to the product when it was delivered. The one thing I would say is that you need to be careful when you take the pot out of the box as the gold base is foiled and small pieces could fall off if you are not careful. Having said this I would definitely recommend this product.

The Grey and Gold foiled plant pot is aesthetically pleasing. I love the design and complexity. It is a completely unique piece and very original. However I had it delivered and it arrived completely broken; that would be my only negative criticism for this product.

This plant pot arrived completely smashed on the first try but I emailed OB Customer Service with photos and they very kindly sent over a new one right away which was great! The downside of the new plant pot is that it seems to have a lot of areas with some kind of a sticky residue (like how it feels when you pick a sticker off of an item and the gluey residue is left over and gets dirty) - You can see a few of these in the photos. Sadly they can't be wiped off as it would probably take the gold foil off with it :( Aside from this I'd still say that it would be a lovely item to purchase for yourself or as a gift, (I even purchased the small and medium version of it, but in-store, afterwards) - I just wish I had been sent a better replacement for the extra large one as funnily enough the one that arrived smashed didn't seem to have the sticky residue on it anywhere! If it's possible to exchange the replacement I was sent then that would be much appreciated - Thank you!
