Velvet & Leather Care
Velvet Care
Velvet is a wonderfully tactile fabric and velvet furniture brings a luxurious feel to your home, so make sure it stays in tip-top condition by following a few guidelines.
Keep your velvet furniture looking great
Velvet is sensitive to pressure, and while any marks left after scuffing or compression will come out given time, you can help the process along by lightly steaming the affected area with a clothes steamer.
Never use water to clean the fabric – use a dry cloth to remove surface moisture from spills and always dab the affected area, do NOT rub.
For best results with more stubborn stains, use a reputable specialist dry cleaning service.
Leather Care
Leather is hardwearing and durable, making it more resistant to wear and tear. It’s natural texture and colour will develop a unique character as it ages, but there’s a few things you can do to maintain your leather product's condition.
If there is a spillage, blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Do not wipe, as this is more likely to cause permanent discolouration of the leather.
For deeper cleaning, use a damp (not wet) cloth with a leather cleaner or a mild soap solution, working in gentle circular motions. Avoid harsh chemicals, excessive water, and abrasive cleaners. After cleaning, wipe away excess moisture with a clean, dry cloth and allow the leather to air dry completely.
Do not place in direct sunlight. Do not place directly in front of radiators.
