Caring for wooden furniture

Wood is a natural material that is built to last. During warm, humid weather wood can expand, and during dry weather wood can contract. These seasonal variations are a normal characteristic of wood, but to help maintain the natural beauty and performance of your wooden furniture, follow these guidelines.

Looking after wooden furniture

Do not position your wooden furniture in front of radiators where possible. Avoid direct heat and direct sunlight.

Do not place your wooden furniture in moist environments or outdoors.

Any spills should be removed immediately with a damp cloth then patted with a dry cloth. Never let them dry out on the surface or stains and water marks will occur. Always use a coaster or mat to protect the surface.

To maintain the appearance of your wooden furniture, dust regularly with a soft cloth.

Take care when moving furniture - do not drag as it may cause damage to the joints. Take care not to overload and ensure the weight is evenly distributed.
