Our Be Kind Charity Partnership
2019 – 2021: UK Youth

In 2019, we were thrilled to announce UK Youth as our Be Kind Charity Partner for 2019 and 2020. Team OB chose UK Youth due to the vital work it does for young people across the UK. In response to COVID-19 and the impact it has had on the youth sector, we made the important and exciting decision to extend our collaboration for a third year through 2021. UK Youth is committed to providing access to appropriate, high-quality services in every community in the UK so that young people are empowered to build bright futures, regardless of their background or circumstances. Their network of 3,536 local youth organisations reach 1.5 million young people across the UK. Our donations enable young people to take part in UK Youth’s development programmes and build the key life skills they need. Money raised also supports youth organisations in their network, through vital training on important issues such as safeguarding, funding and workforce development.

Our brilliant achievements in 2020

Together we raised £60,508 through donations from the sale of our UK Youth products and the 4p donation from our carrier bag charge.
Team OB have taken part in 80 hours of volunteering to share their expertise and empower young people within the UK Youth network.
In the response to COVID-19 developed two packs of face coverings with a donation directly to UK Youth, we sold 5,789 packs and raised £20,000.
Provided unique work experience, shadowing and training opportunities for 50 young people to develop their skills and experience with Team OB.
Actively supported the development of the UK Youth Young & Black campaign set up to provide a safe space to share, listen, learn and amplify the voices of young Black people in Britain.
Our partnership has been nominated both years in the Retail category at the Business Charity awards.
