1. Make a statement
Look to large pieces of indoor rattan furniture to make a feature of the trend in (almost) every room. In your living room, use a set of rattan coffee tables to pull focus to your seating area. You could create interest by styling the set asymmetrically or decorate one with home accessories to perk up an unloved corner.
And elsewhere? A large armoire will create plenty of storage in your bedroom or hallway, while its top can be decorated with baskets, blankets and more.

2. Style your storage
Rattan’s natural colour makes it an ideal canvas for decoration, so one of the easiest ways you can incorporate the trend into your existing decor is to use open storage furniture. To create an enviable - and Instagrammable – rattan shelfie, style freestanding units or wall shelves with books, lighting, and, for that tropical jungle look, plants and plant pots.

3. Add playful pops
You don’t need furniture to style this trend in your home. You can add playful pops of rattan with smaller home accessories such as plant stands and wicker baskets too. They’re easy to move around when you feel like switching up your decor, and can be used to fill any awkward areas you can’t work out how to decorate. Style one of these characters in your bedroom or living space, or create a menagerie (and add plenty of storage) with a group of baskets.

4. Decorate with mirrors
Don’t worry if you haven’t got any floor space for rattan homeware, because you can decorate your walls with it instead. Hung on a wall or propped up on a mantlepiece, a rattan mirror will take up less room than furniture, and you can easily move it around it around if you feel like switching things up. Our top tip is to place the mirror near a source of natural light to make the room feel spacious and bright.

5. Light it up
Whether you want to add a little bit of rattan, or a lot, lighting is an easy way to tap into this trend. The good news is you’re not limited to only using rattan. Lamps and shades made from bamboo, seagrass, or raffia can also be used to achieve a similar look. The irregular finish of these natural materials will add texture to your room while their airy weaves will cast a statement glow.
