This spoon rest has a round dish to place your cooking accessories and a small handle for perfect balance. Handmade by artisans in Portugal, this spoon rest is made from terracotta, a centuries-old material traditionally used for kitchenware. It is more porous than other ceramic materials, and this can affect the appearance of the rest by creating hairline fissures in the glaze. This gives each piece a unique finish, and these characteristics do not affect the quality of the kitchenware.

This is beautiful, albeit a bit bigger than I was expecting (although this is not a bad thing by any means as it can hold multiple spoons at once). The colour and finish are lovely and although I have not been able to try it out in a dishwasher it has held up to multiple hand washings very well so far.
